Hey Tarric Brooker — I’d suggest keeping an eye on the “total hours worked” statistic instead of unemployment. Unemployment is easy to fudge exactly as you suggest whereas total hours worked reflects underemployment + unemployment + reduced labour participation all in 1 stat. Unemployment is a joke for exactly the reasons you highlighted.
